About the Role: We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to join our moderation team. As a Chat Moderator, you will be crucial in maintaining a positive, welcoming, and safe environment specifically within the crosschat channels facilitated by SynapseChat. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in community management, work with a passionate team, and directly contribute to the success of a verified Discord bot.
Key Responsibilities:
Crosschat Channel Moderation: Diligently monitor crosschat channels where SynapseChat bridges conversations between servers. Ensure all crosschat rules and community guidelines are followed across interconnected chats.
Rule Enforcement: Address conflicts, spam, or inappropriate content observed in crosschat messages swiftly and impartially. Promote respectful communication and guide users towards positive interactions within the crosschat environment.
Reporting: Promptly report any critical issues, persistent rule-breakers, or security concerns observed in crosschat to the administrative team.
Positive Presence: Lead by example, demonstrating respectful behavior, impartiality, and a helpful attitude within the crosschat space.
Guidance & Assistance: Provide general guidance to members regarding crosschat rules and appropriate usage of SynapseChat in linked channels.
Assist with organizing or overseeing small community events or Q&A sessions within the hub that might involve crosschat members.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Age: Must be 16 years of age or older to apply for this role.
Active Discord User: You must be an active and consistent user of Discord, familiar with its features and community norms.
SynapseChat Familiarity: A solid understanding of SynapseChat's core functionalities, crosschat features, and an active user of the bot (preferably in your own or other servers) is highly preferred.
Excellent Communication: Strong written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, concisely, and patiently.
Maturity & Impartiality: Possess excellent judgment, a calm demeanor, and the ability to act fairly and impartially in all moderation decisions.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with other moderators and staff members, communicate effectively, and follow team guidelines.
Problem-Solving Skills: Resourcefulness in helping users find solutions or directing them to appropriate resources.
Time Commitment: Ability to dedicate a few hours per week to moderation duties (flexible scheduling will be discussed).
Previous Experience (Plus): Prior experience in Discord moderation or community management is a significant advantage, but not strictly required for motivated candidates.
